Job Description

Prime responsibilities and duties:

  • Provide proactive, visible HS&E leadership
  • Visible commitment to the risk assessment process
  • Promote and encourage team safety performance through site visits and Tool Box Talks
  • Perform sampling and analysis as required of the role in relation to Turbine and rotating equipment and systems
  • Ensure that equipment and systems are operated and maintained in accordance with requirements
  • Record equipment history accurately, provide reports and communicate activities
  • When required supervise and lead teams
  • Maintain appropriate stocks of critical spares and consumables
  • Tracking and reporting of hired equipment ensuring that certification is always in place
  • Quality Management compliance
  • Commitment to MOUK Incident Free operations and actively promote within team
  • Support the development and implementation of the Maintenance Build (SAP, Maintenance/Assurance Schedules) for Turbine and rotating equipment
  • Actively participate in all BI/OE/RCA related activity
  • Continually monitor all Reliability & Maintenance Work Flows/KPI related business targets and capture any non-performance
  • Ensure asset integrity through compliance within safety critical maintenance strategy
  • Ensure effective management and preparation for Campaign and Shutdown activities

In Operations:

  • Execute duties as per the emergency response procedures or as directed by OIM
  • Ensure the Turbine Tech duties are executed efficiently, liaising with other departments Leads to minimise equipment down time
  • Safe and efficient operation of Turbines, rotating equipment and associated systems
  • Safeguarding the reliability, availability and operational condition of all Turbine and rotating equipment.
  • Achieve appropriate competency to allow you to carry out isolations / de-isolations as required
  • Report underlying root causes of failures
  • Ensure necessary and timely preparation for activities is undertaken
  • Highlight defects with procedures, equipment and tools to relevant staff
  • Liaise with Projects team & vendors to maintain accurate and pertinent maintenance records
  • Encourage open communication
  • Participate in investigations as required
  • Member of local emergency control team as required

Allied occasional duties:

  • Provide leadership, set expectations, coach and mentor with regards to acceptable attitudes and behaviours.
  • Accountable for all analysis and reporting of results
  • Accountable for raising SAP PRs (Purchase Requisitions) for production chemicals, laboratory consumables and equipment

  • OIM / Deputy OIM
  • Maintenance Supervisor
  • Discipline leads
  • Project HUC team (Until July 2019)

Key internal interfaces - Onshore:

  • Culzean Project & Commissioning Team
  • EPC Contractor Detailed Design Team
  • I&R Manager, Installation Support Team
  • Asset Operations Team
  • Qualifications/Training - Essential:
  • Recognised relevant NVQ qualification and/or relevant HNC
  • RCFA, 5 whys or other similar defect investigation techniques
  • Prior SAP / CMMS experience
  • Qualifications/Training - Desirable:
  • Chartership
  • NVQ4 Supervisory qualification
  • First Step Course or similar

Experience - Essential:

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Competent in the fundamentals of rotating equipment
  • Experienced in the use of Control of Work procedures
  • Maintenance support or technical engineering discipline experience

Experience - Desirable:

  • Prior SAP / CMMS experience
  • Commissioning experience

Personal qualities, aptitudes and skills

  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • A track record of influencing others
  • The ability to analyse operational and maintenance data
  • The ability to lead investigation teams and influence/work with others across the organisation
  • Thorough knowledge and experience of maintenance requirements in oil and gas
  • Provide proactive, visible and well developed SHE leadership
  • Actively participate in continuing Professional Development
  • Promote lateral learning and best practice
  • Work flexibly as part of a team and provide support and training to other team members to enhance flexible working
  • Assume a lead role in emergency response duties
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills. Maintain good relationships with key contacts
  • Understanding of Team dynamics and team motivation
  • Must work at all times in accordance with Company policies and procedures
  • Work at all times in the best interest of AMEC Foster Wheeler
  • Comply with the requirements of the Company's and/or the Client's Safety Management System

Competencies - generic

  • Knowledge of Condition Monitoring & Vibration Analysis Techniques
  • Knowledge of maintenance strategies and equipment failure

Competencies - technical

  • Detailed knowledge of Turbines and rotating machinery
  • Competent to conduct fault finding, installation, isolation and re-instatement of Turbine and rotating systems
  • Experinced in using RCFA, 5 whys or other similar defect investigation techniques
  • Project experience at the Detailed Design / HUC phase
