Job Description

On behalf of our client, Primat is currently seeking an innovative and professional Train Planner to join our client in Liverpool. As a Train Planner, you will be a creative problem solver and fully proficient in the use of the PPS and NROL systems.

Our client provides specialist construction and engineering services to the public and private sectors. Their experience has seen them work on some of the most exciting infrastructure projects in the UK, meaning they are viewed as a 'contractor of choice' across the UK.

As a Train Planner, your responsibilities will include:

  • Collecting and inputting worksite and TSR requirements into PPS and identify possession/isolation limits
  • Attend all pre-possession meetings to ensure possessions/isolations are represented correctly and cover our client's requirements
  • Ability to interpret WON information to ensure no clashes occur for routing trains to and from site
  • Resolve long and short term work clashes to ensure the maximum amount of access and time to suite our client's requirements
  • Liaise closely with the construction teams, both electrification and renewals to ensure work requirements are planned and met within the planning times scales
  • Assume responsibility for planning access from development to delivery to include trains/access/OTM/TSRs.

You will hold the following skills and competencies:

  • Good understanding of the construction / railway industry. Previous experience with Mersey Rail would be advantageous
  • Highly effective motivator with strong written and spoken communication skills and the capability of interfacing at all levels
  • An ability to handle short term pressures arising from short term deadlines to achieve planning targets
  • Computer literacy and the use of planning tools such as PPS, NROL, EAS.
