Job Description

Primat recruitment is seeking a Traffic & Logistics Manager to join a large international team in Stockton-On-Tees. Our client is expanding its minerals business internationally. The company provides engineering and construction services to the minerals industry, specifically focusing on continental & eastern Europe, Scandinavia, Africa and Russia.

This position is office based and is supporting the running of a materials handling project that is due to run for 2 years and potentially longer.

Prime Responsibilities

- Demonstrates high profile and visible safety leadership leading by example and communicates well with all concerned parties.

- Extensive knowledge of related HSEQ safe working practices/procedures.

- Audits on a regular basis to ensure all compliance with project safety, environmental and quality requirements.

- Daily coordination with the appointed freight forwarders.

- Oversee project logistics to ensure logistics budgets and targets are achieved.

- Ensure any duty/Import/taxes are completed within country regulations.

- Ensure project materials are delivered in line with the project schedule.

- Attends shipping load-out of specialised or delicate equipment to ensure safe loading, transit and delivery of materials.

- Able to make difficult decisions and lead and manage others in changing business conditions.

- Excellent people management skills such as leadership, team, interpersonal, coaching, mentoring and supervisory skills. Must be able to build, motivate, develop and manage an effective team.

- Excellent management skills including the ability to plan, set goals; and manage time, priorities, resources, accountabilities, schedules and costs.

- Understands the clients vision and purpose, translates it into team goals and objectives and gains team commitment to achieving those goals and objectives.

- Relevant safety qualification such as British Safety Council or IOSH.

- Experience within Oil & Gas or Mining & Minerals would be advantageous.
