Job Description

My client are a leading international manufacturer and supplier on industrial and commercial lighting and they have an urgent requirement for a Site Manager with an Electrical Bias.

This role is for a duration of approximately 3 to 4 months and Leicester area as the work will be predominantly in and around Leicester, Lincolnshire and the Midlands. This position is to work nights.

You will be working alongside our clients Contracts Manager carrying out the role of the Site Manager as described below

Planning

Work closely with the Project Manager to implement plan the project effectively, by ensuring that the project requirements, specification, design drawings, health and safety proposals are followed, and that a project programme is adhered too.

Formulate a material schedule for project site activates, confirming that all items have been delivered as per project specification, identifying and communicating any shortfalls too internal departments.

Maintain the storage facilities and manage stock planning so that stock, materials, subcontractors are organised to meet the timescales for the project.

Form a secure site, including access and egress.

Maintain the schedule and track progress, keeping records on file and copying weekly records to project manager

To manage on-site, liaising with, client and sub-contractors, co-ordinating all aspects of the works so that the project is completed in line with the requirements, within budget and on time.

Have a commercial understanding of the project, advising and implementing cost savings at all times, and represent the company in a professional and proactive manner in all dealings with those associated with, and affected by, the building project.

Health, Safety and Security

Ensure safety to public, site visitors and staff on site at all times, ensuring that preventative measures are taken, including personal protection, following safety instructions and following all aspects of the health and safety proposal for the site.

Ensure the project emergency plan for the project are followed in line with the health and safety proposal

Carry out required site Inductions to the required person's ensuring all aspects of the health and safety proposal for the site is followed.

Ongoing Management

Support project management team, under their direction to aid workload management.

Supervise and manage all site based operatives, overseeing all aspects of their work, to include; carrying out safety inductions; tool box talks; controlling quality of work; ensuring method statement and order fulfilment; cleanliness & tidiness; waste reduction; use of personal protection equipment/wear,

Ensure that all works carried out are undertaken within current codes of practice and that works are to the required standard

Check that all materials used, including those used by sub-contractors, are compliant with technical and quality specifications.

Keep photographic survey of all site operations and works and forward to the office via line manager.

Maintain and track deliveries, ensure that stock and materials are deployed properly, offload/check all deliveries to relevant storage facilities, and manage stock issue, adhering at all times to operational needs and with due regard for health, safety and security.

Qualifications, Skills and Competencies

  • CSCS/ECS Card
  • SMSTS/SSSTS
  • IOSH Managing Safely

Preferable

  • Asbestos Awareness
  • Electrical background and/or Electrical qualifications (17th Edition)
  • Junior Project Management experience
