About Our Client

Our client is the principal contractor for a group of companies who are responsible for building four new tram extensions in the West Midlands, over the coming decade. This is a fantastic long term opportunity to be a key part of the delivery team on one of the most exciting transport development projects in the UK.

Job Description

The successful applicant will be in charge of the survey of the track and civil structures including control points implementation and verification, works setting out and as-built measurement. To perform surveys throughout the multiple projects of Midland Metro Alliance, which include the following disciplines: track, OLE, civil, infrastructure, highways.

Key responsibilities include;

  • Works include invert level, track alignment, precise levelling, gauging, monitoring, etc.
  • Setting out the traverse and marking of track alignment and turnouts in Main line and depots.
  • Ensures the setting out of the track and civil structures in accordance with AFC drawings.
  • Work in coordination with track work teams for the final adjustment of the track and during the track concreting.
  • In situ survey for turnout's direct casting.
  • Track as-built setting out for final handing over.

The Successful Applicant

  • In date PTS / ICI (Sentinel Card) advantageous.
  • CSCS Card advantageous.
  • Auto-Cad data processing.
  • GNSS, GPR and GPS.
  • Laser scanners and levelling.
  • LSS, platform gauging, static & RTK GNSS [Control establishment].
  • Competent with Track Gauges and understand correct twist.
  • Experience in S&C build up.
  • Experience and competent in the setting up of breather switches.
  • Understand and competent in stressing to a level 2 or above.
  • Competent in Handback.
