Job Description

Primary objectives

Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities to ensure projects are executed in a safe, efficient, cost effective and timely manner.

Act as primary technical coordination interface with client to ensure that the client's expectations are satisfied.

Ensure the project conforms to the client's approved Basis of Design and all applicable regulatory and code requirements.

Accountabilities

HSE Management

· Maintains HSE focus within the team to ensure OHSE requirements included in design, procurement and construction

Client Relationships

· Maintains and builds healthy client relationships.

· Proactively resolves performance, scope and schedule issues with the Client as they arise.

· Identifies, documents, communicates and meets the client's requirements

Commercial Management

· Manages compilation of and owns the project estimate (and schedule) for the respective project stages.

· Effectively manages assigned budgets within total scope.

Scope Management

· Manages project kick-off, ensuring appropriate stakeholder attendance is achieved

· Compliance with Contract Execution Plan and Project Management Plans as applicable

· Compliance with requirements of the contract.

· Effective change control process application.

· Makes maximum use of Global Integrated Delivery (GID) facility

Time Management

· Contributes to the development of and owns the overall project schedule.

· Monitors schedule aspects of the project and critical path within direct control to forecast completion date, identifies schedule performance trends and acts to avoid schedule overruns.

· Supervises work in accordance with the approved schedule

Cost Control

· Monitors cost aspects of the project within direct control to forecast final costs, identifies cost performance trends and acts to avoid cost overruns.

Quality Management

· Contributes to compliance with company policies and procedures.

· Strong working knowledge of company engineering and procurement systems and procedures.

Team Management

· Focuses team on achievement of milestones and other key project objectives.

· Listens to the team, discusses the issues, resolves problems and directs activities to remove roadblocks and achieve objectives.

Risk Management

· Monitors the closure of all identified risks and opportunities.

Design Management

· Sets clear objectives to the design and construction teams, including achieving productivity and budget targets.

· Ensures design team aware of, and complies with, applicable regulations and codes.

· Manages inter-discipline interfaces effectively.

Procurement/Subcontracts Management

· Assesses procurement processes throughout the project to ensure goods meet specification, are delivered on time and are within budget.

Close Out

· Carry out technical close out within prescribed timescale and obtain Client sign-off of Project Handover

Education & Experience:

  • 3 to 10 years project engineering experience on smaller projects with associated commercial and contractual experience
  • Relevant degree or equivalent qualification (Chartered Engineer Preferable) with a minimum of 8 years industry experience
  • Eligible for AIPM level 4 (Qualified Project Practitioner) certification or equivalent
