Job Description

WorleyParsons are looking for a Senior Pipe Supporter to join our Oil and Gas project delivery operation based in one of our UK onshore/offshore locations for a duration of 6 months. You will join the Civil, Structural, Architectural and Weight Control Department (CSAW) which provides concept, FEED and detailed design services for onshore and offshore oil and gas facilities to provide an inherently safe, economical and sustainable solution that meets client demands. In onshore applications, this typically includes large scale refineries and gas terminals and in offshore environments it involves sub-sea and topsides structural systems such as fixed jacket structures, semi-submersible and other floating platforms. Discipline functions range from intelligent modelling, analysis and design of structural systems based in harsh environments through to weight control and architectural engineering.

Your skills and expertise will be utilised across a range of domestic and international projects, starting in the bid phase, continuing through to award, start up and execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute design and draughting activities (Concept, Front End Engineering Development, Technical Study & Detailed Design
  • Prepare pipe support drawings and design deliverables to the required technical quality with minimum input from engineering personnel as required.
  • Achieve safety standards as defined in personal performance contract.
  • Be responsible for assessing effectiveness of working practices and systems with a view to continuously improving systems, personal and team performance.
  • Carry out work in accordance with AMEC and project Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality systems.
  • Ensure that designs comply with the relevant Codes, Standards, Regulations and Procedures.
  • Ensure, as far as is practically possible, that all assigned work is carried out in compliance with the agreed budget and schedule.
  • Keep up-to-date with technical developments, National and International standards and legislative requirements related to the discipline scope.
  • Prepare estimates and schedules and assist in their review.
  • Identify scope and schedule changes in accordance with the Change Control Process.
  • aintain good communication with the Client.
  • Maintain discipline filing system.
  • Encourage and provide lateral learning within the Project.
  • Commitment to and promotion of WorleyParsons values and ensuring the realisation of company and project health, safety, environmental, quality and ethics, systems, policies and procedures.
  • Carry out site visits as necessary.

Role Requirements

  • ONC or equivalent in appropriate engineering subject.
  • Experienced designer with sound technical background and strong knowledge of manual and CAD draughting techniques.
  • Conversant with codes of practice, standards and relevant sections of statutory documentation applicable to draughting function.
  • Conversant with company quality control assurance requirements applicable to draughting function.
  • Able to create base design drawings / models from agreed workscope with minimal input from engineering personnel - Able to estimate man-hours and materials for delegated aspects of work.
  • Computer literate (database / spreadsheets)
  • Able to provide draughting checking function as directed by lead pipe supporter.
  • Able to work with other disciplines and draughting sections to meet delivery dates.
