Job Description

Primat recruitment is seeking a Senior Expeditor to join a large international team in Stockton-On-Tees. Our client is expanding its minerals business internationally. The company provides engineering and construction services to the minerals industry, specifically focusing on continental & eastern Europe, Scandinavia, Africa and Russia.

This position is office based and is supporting the design of a project taking place in the North East. Design responsibilities are split between a location in Teesside and a location in India, so frequent liaising between the teams will be part of your role.

The role responsibilities are as follows:

- Maintaining close control over suppliers' performance during project execution, ensuring that all goods, services and documentation are delivered in accordance with the technical specifications and programmes.

- Maintaining and updating materials & documentation tracking reports covering deliverables identified within all purchase orders.

- Maintaining regular contact with suppliers to ensure the order is progressing to programme.

- Co-ordination and reporting of all kick-off / Opening up meetings.

- Undertaking and reporting any visits to suppliers works to monitor progress in detail.

- Maintaining regular contact with the project manager / Project engineers highlighting any potential problems which may be of concern, and ensuring any issue are resolved as quickly as possible.

- Co-ordination with site manager to establish site delivery requirements.

- Experience of in-house materials management system would be preferred.

- Develop a detailed plan for all expediting activities.

- Report and address any programme risks.

- Lead and supervise all expediting activities.

- Report progress of Suppliers against all purchase orders.

- Liaise and co-ordinate with inspectors to optimise supplier surveillance programmes.
