Job Description

Primat are currently looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer for one of the UK largest independent oil producers in the North Sea.

The Senior Electrical Engineer is a critical role delivering on safety and production aspects to our North Sea asset base. Primat is looking for a proactive, highly skilled individual who can work as part of a cross asset team. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who can work independently, is delivery focused and can successfully manage multiple interfaces and work streams.

  • Manage the strategic maintenance to ensure the availability/reliability of electrical systems to meet business/compliance targets/requirements
  • Be the custodian for the asset electrical maintenance strategies and ensure they are updated to reflect current industry standards/manufacturer guidelines
  • Complete engineering studies as and when required to support business and safety objectives
  • Trend system availability and amend strategies accordingly to maximize availability
  • Assess obsolescence and sparing philosophy and monitor/amend to align with platform business case
  • Be aware of appropriate discipline legislation, safety cases and safety management systems required to support the role
  • Ensure electrical system compliance with legislative requirements and standards
  • Ensure direct reports (including vendor personnel) are aware of and comply with company safety culture and expectations
  • Co-ordinate with operations personnel for planned and corrective maintenance of HV & LV fixed and rotating electrical systems and equipment
  • Responsible for the provision of electrical solutions, resolution of problems and support of fault diagnosis to ensure the safe and reliable operation of facilities
  • Identify opportunities and deliver enhancements to safety, whilst ensuring production efficiency is maintained

  • Ensure electrical systems are maintained using MAXIMO system
  • Complete routine maintenance audits and sample quality of input to MAXIMO
  • Ensure the asset CAT 1 electrical documentation is accurately maintained up to date
  • Provide front line technical support to the assets ensuring troubleshooting is managed efficiently and effectively
  • Ensure maintenance of electrical Safety & Environmental Critical Elements
  • Co-ordinate and manage the electrical aspects of the asset delivery plans
  • Lead electrical engineering input into the Management of Engineering Change process for asset modifications
  • Ensure application of company procedures and policies
  • Support/deliver asset improvement plans
  • Participate in incident investigations and produce reports
  • Carryout RCFA investigations for equipment failures
  • Carry out regular offshore visits (i.e. four visits per year minimum)
  • Manage 'in year' asset maintenance budgets and develop these budgets for future years
  • Ensure the 'maintenance of equipment' delivers continued safe reliable operation
  • Support delivery of maintenance improvement plans
  • Manage and coordinate 3rd party vendors in the delivery of maintenance
  • Contribute to asset Shutdown Plans, ensuring electrical modifications, testing and maintenance scopes are adequately provided for
  • Liaise with regulator and ICP to ensure compliance
  • Support asset technician electrical authorisation program in accordance with procedures
  • Deputise for the Electrical TA.
  • Experience in delivering Engineering, Integrity Management & Maintenance Technical Support to operating assets
  • Experience in Computerised Maintenance Management Systems
  • Strong safety/environmental awareness - understanding of legislative requirements
  • Demonstrable industry experience working to an advanced level of competence
  • Experience in the creation of Scopes of Work documents for vendor and offshore work
  • Experience in the development and the management of Engineering Budgets
  • Experience of project modifications from initiation to close-out
  • Experience in the Client/Operator role at FATs & SATS.

Qualifications

  • Electrical engineering Masters or Bachelor's degree
