WorleyParsons is currently recruiting for Production Technicians for a 12 month contract for the Culzean Project

Purpose / Role
Culzean is a significant central North Sea uHP/HT development with a substantial gas production capacity currently under development, with first gas scheduled for 2019

The purpose of this role during the Project's Construction and Commissioning phase is to provide Operations support and input to the construction and commissioning teams required to achieve the successful start-up and subsequent operation of the Culzean facilities
The role will initially be based in Singapore as part of the Project team during construction and commissioning until the Topside's sail-away. The role will then become rotational offshore as a Production Technician of the Topsides installation to support HUC, production start-up and subsequent operations
Offshore, under the direction of the Production Supervisor, the position is responsible for the day-to-day operation and control of process plant systems to maximise oil and gas volumes, in accordance with legislative requirements, company health, safety, environmental, integrity and Maersk procedures, standards and values

Key aims and objectives
Adhere to MOUK Commitment to Incident Free operations and undertake the following Production related key enablers in Commissioning & HUC to achieve first gas:

  • Witness and support as agreed equipment SATs prior to sail-away, with particular focus on Process & Utility systems, liaising with all stakeholders
  • Witness leak testing, hydratest and JIM make up activities prior to sail-away as part of the completions management process
  • Work with the Project Team to develop the interface between Maintenance, Operations, Construction and HUC Team to deliver an efficient, Incident Free startup of Culzean production
  • Develop a detailed knowledge of the Wellheads, process plant and controls including their function and operation, as specified and described in the Operating procedures
  • Actively support a working environment based on respect for health, safety and environmental issues and supporting the development of a high level of asset integrity and reliability in the design to deliver Operational Excellence in subsequent operations
  • Responsible for completing verification assurance and routine maintenance activities and maintaining accurate records
  • Maintain proper process plant records, log sheets and equipment running data sheets, recognise readings outside specified values and inform the Assistant Production Supervisor / Production Supervisor should these occur
  • Prepare production wells for testing, carry out the tests as specified and complete the well test reports
  • Monitor general plant condition, keep production areas tidy, and monitor other ongoing activities within the process areas to maintain housekeeping standards
  • Carry out the role of Area Operator and Isolating Authority in the preparation of process plant and equipment maintenance as specified on the relevant plant isolation certificate, Permit to Work or process plant operating procedures
  • On completion of maintenance work, inspect the plant / equipment for integrity prior to start-up, ensure site is clean and tidy and when instructed, start the plant/equipment either for test or return to normal service, in consultation with the CRO

Decision Making Authority and Accountability:

  • In accordance with delegation of authority
  • Responsible for the health, safety and welfare of self and others in compliance with HS@WA, and areas of environment pertaining to the position.

  • Production Supervisor, CRO, Lab Tech, Drilling & Intervention Supervisors
  • Culzean Project and Commissioning Team

Qualifications/Training - Essential:

  • N/SVQ Processing Operations Hydrocarbons level 3 or equivalent
  • Technical apprenticeship (or similar process operators training scheme) OR Technical qualification as process plant operator, ideally at HNC level with NVQ/SVQ Level 2 OR in lieu of formal technical qualifications, candidate may offer extensive experience and proven track record of consistently good performance as a production technician on an oil and gas processing facility

Experience - Essential:

  • Experience of on or offshore production plant operations
  • Strong preference for experience of Platforms, uHPHT, SAT / FAT / commissioning, knowledge of dry trees, drilling, intervention and centrifugal compressors
  • Experience of organising, coordinating and controlling/ monitoring work (including vendors)
  • Experience administration, control and use of Control of Work systems including permit to work procedures
