Job Description

Primat Recruitment are seeking an experienced Process Operator Engineer to support out client in Aberdeen.

You will be working within an Asset team, reporting to tan Installation Team Lead, the Senior Process Operations Engineer will be an onshore focal point for Production Operations activity relating to the Asset, with the requirement for periodic offshore visits for auditing and production de-bottlenecking.


You will be accountable for providing process design, optimisation, technical support and advice on all aspects of offshore production operations to ensure maximisation of offshore facilities; and co-ordinate operational input to the Asset Integrity Plan.


The role is primarily associated with on facility, however, as a member of the Asset team you may be required to work on other facilities within the Asset team as necessary to support production activities.

Process/Production Engineering support of fixed, floating and subsea operations
 Optimisation of production operations providing support and review of:
o Production loss management - causes and solutions
o Production Chemicals management and optimisation
o Root Cause Analysis
 Maximising Production Efficiency, working with the Production Optimisation team (specifically the Petroleum Engineers).
 Assist with the formulation and development of conceptual facilities engineering designs into functional scopes of work for new and existing assets in an effective and economical manner.
 Adopt a Life of Field approach to de-bottleneck studies and plant optimisation
 Carry out regular offshore visits with a particular focus on Process Safety Systems, Major Accident Hazards awareness and management, production de-bottlenecking and auditing.
 Operational interface with Inspection, Repairs, Planning & Shutdown and Projects Teams as appropriate; providing an approval function for process deliverables produced by these teams.
 Provide advice and support to offshore and onshore Operations Teams to ensure the safe and efficient operation of topsides and subsea process and utilities plant and equipment, ensuring minimal environmental impact and advise on trouble-shooting activities

Budget preparation and accountability for area of influence
 Support and promote Operational Excellence to the onshore and offshore teams
 Research and apply best operational practice and promote safe behaviours
 Lead "Operational Risk Assessment" Teams to ensure Process Integrity
 Provide assurance regarding the competency, control and application of operational management systems and procedures and conduct audits as required
 Identify opportunities to improve cost and production efficiencies
 Liaise with peers, contractors, suppliers, vendors and agencies as required
 Participate in recruitment, development and broadening of the offshore crew
 Lead operations input to the Management of Engineering Change, including participation in HAZOPs, HAZIDs and other relevant safety reviews
 Ensure topsides efficiency throughout the asset life cycle; including the identification of bottleneck/turndown issues, and equipment redundancy and obsolescence
 Take a process lead role in the design and coordination of planned maintenance shutdown and construction programmes
 Consider the impact of future legislative change, and, where appropriate, develop risk-based mitigating action plans
 Work with the Senior Process Engineer and Lead Process Engineer to deliver functional improvements and strategic actions.
 Perform a relevant onshore Emergency Response support role if required
 Stand-in as Delegated Installation Team Lead for one of the Asset's facilities, if required for holiday cover, etc.
 Stand-in as Delegated Senior Process Engineer and cover both Asset facilities, as required for holiday cover

Skills & Attributes
 Successful track record in supervising offshore production operations
 Good team player with excellent communication and leadership skills
Experience
 Significant experience in North Sea oil and gas operations with knowledge of topsides, wells, pipelines, floating production and storage and subsea facilities
 Proven experience related to process modelling
 Proven experience of HAZOP, SIL and LOPA studies
 Working knowledge of functional safety
QUALIFICATIONS
Essential
 MIChemE
Desired
 FS Eng (TÜV Rheinland, Safety Instrumented Systems)
 Current offshore survival, medical and MIST certification
