Are you a Piping Designer looking for a new challenge?

Scopus, a subsiday of WorleyParsons is looking for an Piping Designer to join our Oil and Gas project delivery operation based in one of our Aberdeen City Centre office. This role will also have occasional travel to site based within Norway and up to 3 months duration.

Role Overview

Execute design and draughting activities (Concept, Front End Engineering Development, Technical Study & Detail Design)

Prepare Plant Layout and Piping drawings and design deliverables to the required technical quality with minimum input from engineering personnel as required.

Project

Your skills and expertise will be utilised across a range of domestic and international projects, starting in the bid phase, continuing through to award, start up and execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of piping design deliverables
  • Self-checking of piping deliverables
  • Preperation of Construction Workpacks and Material Requisitions
  • Preparation of PED Technical Files
  • Proficient with Autocad 2D & 3D and using Navisworks
  • Knowledge and use of LFM Software
  • Knowledge and understanding of Pipe Supports
  • Ability to read and understand client specifications and Scopes of Work
  • Preparation of site sketches
  • Ability to prepare survey reports and work to planned dates
  • Knowledge and understanding of Scopus procedures
  • Actively maintaining own competence and continuous development.
  • Ensuring learning opportunities are captured and realised.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory framework and legislation.
  • Understands the principles of safety in Piping Design
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to liaise with the client where required and to liaise with vendors where required

Role Requirements

  • HNC or equivalent in appropriate engineering subject, Mechanical preferrable
  • Sound knowledge of manual and CAD draughting techniques
  • Experienced in PDMS software
  • Aware of and able to use codes of practice, standards and relevant sections of statutory documentation as applicable to draughting function
  • Aware of and able to use company and client draughting standards and specifications
  • Able to create base design drawings/models from agreed work scope with minimal guidance
  • Computer literate (database/spreadsheets)
  • Able to communicate clearly with engineering personnel
  • Able to contribute to group/discipline objectives applicable to draughting function
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
