Job Description

AFW UK Oil & Gas are currently recruiting for an Offshore Mechanical Support Co-ordinator based in Aberdeen on a 6 month contract basis.

The appointed service provider will have extensive experience in the oil and gas industry and will be required to assist in offshore maintenance coordination to improve efficiency and ensure delivery of key maintenance activities. This role will be based in Aberdeen with visits to the Centrica Barrow gas terminal.

Key Repsonsibilities

  • Monitoring and ensuring compliance with the planned maintenance system, project KPIs and PMR reviews at agreed intervals
  • Champion continuous improvement in operations and maintenance performance along with a defect elimination culture to optimise discipline support
  • Checking and reporting on maintenance performance to ensure technical and timely delivery of all activity
  • In conjunction with Maintenance Superintendent / Lead Engineer support discipline technical competency of techs is met and maintained at correct level for all associated equipment and systems.
  • Taking accountability for maintenance planning/preparation of technical demanding tasks ensuring discipline support to full process
  • Ensuring compliance with performance standards and maintenance requirements
  • Managing maintenance support contracts and associated vendors. Liaise with other disciplines and ensure vendor support is efficiently applied
  • Perform routine checks on work undertaken by techs to ensure the required levels of quality are being met and within agreed budget forecasts
  • Input to equipment maintenance strategies to improve reliability of key equipment
  • Assist with the resolution of operational problems including participation in and close out of root cause failure analysis
  • Actively engage with the site execution teams ensuring participation in corporate behavioural safety and intervention schemes, work to enhance communication and promote understanding of goals
  • Provide recommendations for critical spares and optimise asset inventory
  • Use knowledge base to give guidance to other asset team members
  • Provide maintenance/technical input to modification
  • Raise "problem opportunity" sheets for consideration
  • Raise e-moc to support agreed technical changes
  • Provide out of hours advice to shift team
  • Deputise for R&M Team Leader as necessary
  • Assist in recruitment process as required
  • Assist in technical support & input to external tenders & pre-quals as requested

Role Requirements:

Essential:

  • Engineering degree in a relevant discipline plus proven track record of maintenance experience within the oil & gas industry
  • OR : - proven record of time spent as assistant engineer, (or similar), with HNC in mechanical engineering and candidate can offer an auditable track record of consistently good performance in the role

Desirable:

  • BSc mechanical engineering plus comprehensive experience within the Oil & Gas industry in a similar rol
  • First Step Course or similar
  • NVQ3 in Maintenance EngineeringGood knowledge of maintenance strategy development, tools and techniques
  • Knowledge of the following: criticality analysis, safe systems of work, risk assessment, performance standards and RCA methodsExperience of maintenance strategy development, tools and techniques
  • Good knowledge of CMMS structures functionality and processes
  • Working knowledge of industry best maintenance practice
  • Substantial experience of the maintenance/integrity aspects of O&G equipment, systems and associated legislation
  • Ability to communicate with technical specialists and at all level in organisation
  • Previous involvement with the development and execution of maintenance management theories and techniques
