Job Description

Primat is currently recruiting for an Occupational Health & Safety Coordinator, on behalf of our client, to join their team in Aberdeen on a full time, staff basis. Our client is an independent oil and gas exploration and production company.

 

As an Occupational Health & Safety Coordinator, you will develop, administer and implement companywide, or targeted, occupational safety programs. You will also provide analysis of health and safety reports, determining trends and making recommendations on preventative or corrective measures.

 

In this role, you will be expected to work independently with no supervision of work and be responsible for the quality of delivered products.

 

You will also be required to take into account information outside your own work and integrate it into your own area of responsibility. It should be expected that you will also be able to provide comments and observations based on your analysis of data/information.

 

Responsibilities
As an Occupational Health & Safety Coordinator, you will be expected to undertake the following responsibilities:

  • Conduct on-site inspections ensuring safety standards are met and being managed consistently
  • Develop and implement HSEQ competency management framework and training, including HSEQ culture programs e.g. safety leadership training and behavioural based safety training programs
  • Manage and coordinate investigation and reporting of health and safety incidents and accidents
  • Review job site safety compliance inspections including hazard analysis, safe work procedures and writing reports & recommendations
  • Coordinate HSEQ training
  • Manage Health and Wellbeing at Work programs
  • Ensure that all relevant governance is in full compliance with applicable regulations.

 

Qualifications and Personal Specifications
You will ideally hold the following qualifications and skills:

  • Relevant University degree (BSc required, MSc preferred)
  • Experience in HSEQ and in Operations within the Oil & Gas industry is desirable
  • Strong HSEQ culture
  • Experience in working on cross-organisational initiatives, working in liaison and coordination with colleagues across diverse disciplines and teams
  • Efficient self-starter with an ability to work alone and as part of a team, prioritise tasks and deliver against deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.
