WorleyParsons are recruiting a Mechanical Supervisor to mobilise to the GP3 FPSO on a 12 month contract

Job Purpose:

The Mechanical Supervisor is responsible for scheduling and executing mechanical planned, corrective and safety critical work in accordance with plan so as to ensure equipment integrity and availability. This is done in accordance with legislative requirements, company health, safety, environmental, integrity and other relevant standards and Maersk values.

Primary duties:

  • Actively support a working environment based on respect for health, safety and environmental issues and maintenance of a high level of asset integrity.
  • Commit to incident free operations and actively promote within your team MOUK commitment to Incident Free.
  • Where appropriate, person to provide input to major accident hazard management, in particular the prevention, detection, control, mitigation and response to major accidents.
  • Participate as a member of the Chief engineer's team in delivering Maersk Oil North Sea performance targets.
  • Build effective working relationships with other departments and shifts.
  • Ensure necessary preparation for relevant scheduled activities.
  • Lead, supervise on site and actively support the mechanical technicians and vendors to ensure that the maintenance work is executed in a safe, efficient and timely manner giving due regard to quality of work done.
  • Ensure that the underlying causes of failures are understood and that action is taken to avoid repeat failures.
  • Delegate work to subordinates and manage their workload and output.
  • Coach and develop direct reports personally and professionally.
  • Carry out appraisals and manage performance of direct reports.
  • Prioritise and set objectives of direct reports.
  • Bring defects in practices, equipment, tools, protective clothing to the attention of relevant staff.
  • Liaise with projects, vendors and OEMs so as to maintain maintenance plans and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate and appropriate maintenance records and ensure that the data is entered into the appropriate information management systems.
  • Raise relevant work permits in a timely manner.
  • Execute duties as specified in the station/bill/emergency response procedures or as directed by the OIM.
  • Ensure a full and comprehensive handover detailing all relevant details in accordance with procedures.
  • Ensure that high quality standards of housekeeping and cleanliness are maintained.
  • Ensure that adequate stocks of equipment and materials are maintained.
  • Encourage good, open communication promoting involvement and participation and adherence to Maersk values.
  • Deputise for Chief engineer as required.
  • Commit to MOUK Competence Assurance System and undertake any training and assessment required for the role.

Required qualifications/experience:

  • Technical apprenticeship or equivalent and HNC Mechanical, plus demonstrable experience a the senior mechanical person
  • OR First Class Marine Engineers Certificate of Competency
  • OR-In lieu of formal technical qualifications, candidate may offer extensive experience in offshore maintenance with a substantial auditable track record and proof of performance in a similar position.
  • They will have recently held a senior I supervisory maintenance engineering role on a permanently manned producing facility.
  • Recognised relevant NVQ qualification.
  • Extensive experience of offshore operations
  • Excellent knowledge of maintenance , associated technical standards, processes and relevant legislation
  • Vender management experience
  • Good supervisory, written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present complex technical issues in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to create positive relations to peers and stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Experience of maintenance scheduling, organising, coordinating and controlling/monitoring work
  • Competent in the operation of computerised planned maintenance systems Ability to carry out accident I incident investigations
  • Competent to conduct root cause analysis
  • Ability to prioritise workloads
