Job Description

Primat is seeking a Mechanical Project Designer to join a large chemical company based in Teesside. Our client is full of talented people that drive a dynamic business that supplies a range of growing sectors and geographic in Europe, The Middle East, Asia and The Americas.
As the Project Designer you will be responsible to the Project Engineer for ensuring that the detail design for the project is managed and delivered to agreed performance targets (technical, cost and time). This position is on a contract due to last 12 months. Responsibilities

  1. Ensure that detail design packages are produced to client standards.
  2. Monitoring of design man-hours and controlling to those included for in the estimate. Informing the Project Engineer of any forecast deviations from the estimate.
  3. Ensure detail design meets the requirements of the original design intent.
  4. Ensure that the requirements of the CDM regulations are fully met (design risk assessments).
  5. Liaise with other functional designers as required to ensure that discipline interfaces have been considered.

Experience

  1. At least 3 years' experience in a project design role.
  2. Ability to work to project deadlines and produce reports on forecast deviations.
  3. Experience gained of top tier COMAH chemical sites.
  4. Proven experience of working on Brownfield projects.
  5. Mechanically orientated degree or equivalent.
