Job Description

On behalf of our North Sea operator client, Primat has an requirement for a Marine Engineer on a permanent basis

We're looking for a candidate who ideally has experience in a North Sea oil and gas environment, preferably on a FPSO.

As a Marine Engineer, you will be responsible for the safe and cost effective operation and maintenance of the facility's engine room systems including ER Boilers, Deck Boilers, associated equipment and selected vessel utilities with minimal environmental impact in accordance with legislation, class, flag and the compliance assurance management

Key Objectives:

As a Marine Engineer, you will be required to perform the following duties:

  • Co-ordinate with the discipline lead technicians to complete all engine room task schedules and provide first hand technical guidance on marine plant and equipment, including repair procedures and strategies.
  • Provide engine room, pump room, engine room boiler, deck boiler and selected utilities support to the facility operations.
  • Provide first line maintenance for engine room, pump room, boiler, selected utilities and pump room equipment.
  • Operate engine room and pump room equipment including, marine diesel generators, engine room boilers, steam cargo oil pump, steam ballast pump refrigeration plant, fresh water generators and associated equipment

Essential Requirements:

  • Marine Engineer Class 2 certificate.

  • Marine Engineering trade apprenticeship.

  • Must hold all relevant offshore certification including Bosiet, MIST, OGUK and CA-EBS/Shoulder Measurement.

  • Relevant operating experience on a marine facility and detailed knowledge of tanker operations and maintenance.

  • Experience in the operation and maintenance of process equipment.

  • Experience with Permit to Work systems, Safety Management System
  • Class 2 Motor CoC
  • Demonstrable experience in the operation and maintenance specifically of Wartsila 50 DFDE engines
