Job Description

AFW Oil &Gas UK have a requirement for a Mechanical Work Preparator to join our Operations and Maintenance Team working in Great Yarmouth.

Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for ensuring accurate and consistent preparation of preventative and corrective maintenance workscopes, and that all the required maintenance deliverables are produced in line with the priority based ranking of the maintenance execution process.
  • To continuously improve the Work Preparation process performance.
  • To play an active role in ensuring that all maintenance HSEQ goals are achieved and, where possible, exceeded such that all work is carried out in a safe and productive manner in line with Company / Client processes and procedures.
  • To be influential in integrating the Maintenance Department within the overall Maintenance Group.
  • To be conversant with HSE plans and to implement HSE procedures ensuring the health and safety of personnel.
  • To comply with all statutory and legislative requirements.
  • Assess effectiveness of working practices and systems with a view to continuously improving systems, personnel and team performance.
  • Act as coach, trainer, or mentor for the Work Preparation team.
  • Be conversant with the Facility Status Report (FSR) tool and able to raise deviations to the required standard.
  • Prepare, review, and approve work in Computerised Maintenance Management System (SAP).
  • Sustain and improve Maintenance Execution & Asset Integrity (MIE).
  • Monitor and report work preparation process performance to the Cluster Delivery Team.
  • To actively contribute towards the asset/cluster maintenance compliance KPI's.
  • Oversee and ensure the quality and quantity of work orders and work packs prepared by cluster work preparators is in accordance with Work Preparation, Scheduling and Execution (WPSE) process.
  • Ensure all deliverables meet requirements of plans and budgets.
  • To gate keep the inflow of notifications from the client to the Work Preparators.
  • Assure plant integrity by providing scope descriptions, vendor requirements, tools and resource materials in accordance with the WPSE process.
  • Assist with managing worksite conflicts/simultaneous operations to an absolute minimum.
  • To assist in the management of the annual nodal/NUI shutdowns as required.
  • To assist in managing the maintenance budget and awareness of budget restrictions. Continuously aims to prepare maintenance activities in a cost effective manner.
  • Contribute to a proactive, innovative, and one team approach.
  • Represent customer with regards to site maintenance execution, resulting in improved maintenance work orders and work packs.
  • Assist in any maintenance development projects.
  • Co-ordinate vendors and sub-contractors.
  • Provide support and advice to offshore/onshore maintenance teams.


Essential:

  • Minimum Mechanical apprenticeship or equivalent training scheme plus NVQ/HNC in engineering or equivalent with comprehensive experience in the role as the senior responsible person on a permanently manned producing installation
  • Proven record of time spent as assistant engineer, or similar, with NVQ/HNC
  • Good knowledge of offshore equipment, systems and associated regulations / legislation
  • Good working knowledge of Maintenance Management systems
  • Good working knowledge of maintenance strategy development, tools and techniques
  • Good knowledge of industry best maintenance practise
  • Ability to communicate with technical specialists

Desirable:

  • Some expereince of database software
  • Knowledge of discipline/ specialist software applications
