Job Description

Worley is looking for an Maintenance Engineer - Instrument to join our customer's asset operations team, based in Aberdeen, for a duration of circa 6 months.

Key Objective

You will be an Maintenance Engineer - Instrument, working alongside the Lead Instrument Engineer to develop, plan and manage instrument engineering activities and address issues across the asset team's installations. You will provide specialist instruments knowledge and technical support to the team.

Primary Duties

  • Provide instrument engineering support to operations and/or projects as required and take ownership of offshore instruments technical queries to ensure resolution to the satisfaction of all concerned stakeholders.
  • Prioritise and drive the proactive and reactive maintenance of the offshore instrument and control systems, ensuring all maintenance is captured within the CMMS system (SAP). This includes annual reviews of all PMRs to ensure alignment with Safety Case.
  • Assist in managing control and instrumentation studies to review the performance of the offshore facilities.
  • Participate in scoping, provision of solutions and delivery of modification proposals to ensure they meeting budgetary and technical requirements.
  • Participate in detailed design activities for the asset where required, including risk assessment, HAZOP and HAZID etc.
  • Materials management
  • Define/review/approval of technical scopes for vendors / evaluation of proposals.
  • Manage support contract and specialist vendors and vendor led work scopes e.g. proposed upgrades, to ensure that all work is completed on time and within budget. This includes adherence to customer's Management of Change procedures.
  • Ensure asset ESD and Fire and Gas systems meet statutory and operational requirements at all times.
  • Support the Instrument Technical Authority in the provision of generic and specific standards, procedures and systems that ensure a high level of asset integrity, availability and enable the installations' Licenses to Operate to be maintained.
  • Provide discipline specific input to standards, procedures and scopes of work, as necessary.
  • Work with relevant interfaces to ensure that discipline input to integrated asset plan activities are identified in a timely manner and that any adverse consequences of modifications are reflected in an updated plan.
  • Support the setting and maintenance of instruments budget, supporting quarterly cost forecasting and processing all invoices/material requisitions. Support scoping and provide technical input to all asset modifications / projects.
  • Support a working culture based on respect for health, safety and environmental issues and maintenance of a high level of asset integrity.
  • Contribute to good, open communication, build effective working relationships with other departments, promoting involvement, participation and adherence to customer values.

Role Requirements

  • Previous experience in a similar role within the oil and gas industry or similar.
  • Knowledge of associated technical / engineering disciplines.
  • Familiar with UK industry regulations relating to the oil and gas industry.
  • Effective relationship-builder at all levels, internally and externally.
  • Effective communicator, both written and verbal.
