Job Description

Primat Recruitment is recruiting for a Fisheries Resource Manager to join a multinational, world leader within the renewable energy sector.


As a Fisheries Resource Manager, you will will issue the insurance of specific documents required by the French statutory bodies for the preparation of the offshore installation phase of the project. In particular, on the aspects of fishing resources and project activities based in Brittany, France.

The role is provisionally listed as a 1 year duration, however there is a potential that the role may be extended until project completion which is expected in 2023.

The role is based in Saint-Brieuc, with a potential need to travel through to Paris to visit client offices when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing plans and protocols for the fisheries studies required by the project authorisations
  • Participate in the selection process of service providers and consultants to carry out these studies and in the analysis of offers (ITEO)
  • Support the activities of the providers and consultants for these studies, deal with issues related to these activities, on a day-to-day basis.
  • Ensure compliance with the authorisations for the offshore wind power project in the Bay of Saint-Brieuc (consent compliance, 135 recommendations in total), particularly with regard to fishing resources and fishing activities.
  • Supporting, collaborating and responding to the needs of other project departments related to these requirements.
  • Ensure the quality of the deliverable of these studies.
  • Participate in obtaining new authorisations for the project, necessary for technical or environmental campaigns at sea, port facilities, etc.
  • Participate in working groups or meetings with external entities and/or State Services.
  • Write notes on specific fisheries and maritime issues related to the project (analysis, reference, feedback, etc.)

Qualification, Certification & Training

  • University training in the marine environment with specialisation in Fisheries: Marine Biology, Fisheries Resources, Fisheries etc
  • Practical knowledge of fishing activities in France and their interactions with offshore constructions and ideally, offshore wind projects
  • Experience in projects with technical, environmental and industrial problems
  • Careful report writing, presentation and synthesis skills
  • Experience of working in multidisciplinary teams
  • Pro active, good communication and interpersonal relations. Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels and with consultants
  • Innovation and creativity, especially in problem solving and managing conflicting requirements
