Job Description

Worley is looking for a Financial Accountant to join their team in our Aberdeen City Centre office on a permanent basis.

Role overview:


Working for the Tax and Treasury manager, and pivotal to the integration of our latest acquisition, this is an exciting new role which will allow the right individual to take responsibility for various tax and treasury processes, both existing and emerging as part of the integration program; and with the potential to change in scope and content as we move through transition program.


Responsibilities and Duties:


You will manage day to day activities while supporting your manager in the transition of new work in the following areas:

  • Liaison with Group Treasury to obtain funding for payments
  • Supporting offshore Business Services Centre in identifying and allocating receipts
  • Daily review of all bank accounts to make sure transactions understood, coding assigned, and support provided to Business Services Centre to assign transaction.
  • Coordinating the processing and approval of manual payments, ensuring control processes adhered to
  • Supporting your manager in administering the set-up of new bank accounts and signatories.
  • Producing group VAT return, with appropriate assurance checks.
  • Supporting your manager in confirming and implementing processes as tax and treasury workload transitions ensuring full alignment with buyer's policies.
  • Controlling "to/from" balances between new acquisition and seller, ensuring correct and timely invoicing, transfer of cash, and account reconciliation.
  • Monitoring group loan movements and confirming consolidated matched position for month end reporting
  • Attending calls to monitor cash forecast inflows and outflows; and report weekly.

Role Requirements:

  • Qualified accountant, with 1-2 years post-qualification experience
  • Oracle experience preferred but not essential
  • Large company experience preferred but not essential.
  • Excellent excel skills
  • Excellent grasp of key accounting principles
  • Able to work quickly, in an organized way.
  • Able to analyse large amounts of data to enable review and decisions
  • Good communicator at all levels, and with a strong appreciation of communication requirements inherent in end to end processes.
  • Self-starter able to work without supervision.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the enthusiasm to improve and develop processes
