Job Description

To co-ordinate/supervise work groups by assigning work, scheduling work hours, check results, take actions to ensure quality work, and provide training for staff. To supervise physical works on site, ensuring safe delivery, compliance to appropriate internal and external standards and timely completion and handback.

  • Ensure the safety integrity of all activities undertaken by the staff he/she is responsible for.
  • Manage site construction costs against agreed project targets and manage robust records to support this.
  • Ensure personal site diary maintained with daily events recorded appropriately.
  • Organise, manage and develop robustly, a first class Trackwork labour delivery team.
  • Assist the Construction Manager through the allocation of labour resources to projects.
  • Take active involvement in the planning of the projects, working alongside the technical staff.
  • Make recommendations with respect to career planning and development of the site labour resources.

Must hold the following competencies:

  • Engineering Supervisor Competency.
  • PTS, COSS track safety competencies or equivalent knowledge/experience.
  • Proven experience of team leadership and influencing staff.
  • Previous experience of Track installation and construction activities, ideally for urban systems (Tramways, LRT).
  • Understanding of other related rail disciplines and interface management.
  • Basic IT skills required.
  • Willingness to support new entries into the industry by providing ongoing mentoring throughout.
