Job Description

Primat has a urgent requirement for a Deck Operator - Rigger to join the FPSO team in the North Sea. Trip date 07.08.18 to 28.08.18

Perform all deck crew duties, with rigging as primary function, as directed by Deck Foreman / Marine Supervisor in accordance with the Company Operation Procedures.

  • Assist in the movement of deck equipment.
  • Banksman/ Rigger and slinger.
  • HDA duties
  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of deck services in an environment in which statutory operational, safety and environmental policies are fully implemented.
  • Perform rigging & slinging operations. Participate in RA & TBT's.
  • Care, maintenance of rigging equipment/rigging loft and associated certification.
  • Complete relevant deck planned maintenance tasks as directed by Deck Foreman.
  • General housekeeping duties.
  • Preparation & painting of structure as and when required.
  • Is aware of the Safety Case.
  • Adopting safe-working practices at all times and, where appropriate, in accordance with the Company's Operating Procedures.
  • Ensures that the work conditions and environment are maintained in a safe and healthy condition.
  • Acts responsibly and takes all necessary precautions to protect themselves, fellow workers and any other persons who may be affected by their activities from injury and preventable illness.
  • Ensures that any defects in working practices, machinery, tools, equipment, protective measures and protective clothing are immediately brought to the attention of management so that steps can be instigated to remedy the defect or take the equipment out of service until repaired or made safe.

Experience in an offshore UK/North Sea oil & gas environment preferably on a FPSO and Experience gained in the capacity of Rigger out with North Sea field operations will also be considered.

  • Adept in basic and intermediate rigging principles and operation
  • Familiar with and have an understanding of the Company Health, Safety and Environmental Policies.
  • Ability to deploy engineering & operational standards/ procedures that meet both regulatory and safety standards.
  • Ability to provide guidance and motivation to co-workers
  • Ability to identify, investigate, audit and control technical change (within limit of discipline knowledge)
  • Ability to undertake work to meet acceptance criteria with respect to safety, technical integrity, cost and schedule
  • Clear, fluent and expressive use of verbal and written language to convey information and ideas.
  • Requirement to raise any non-conformance to supervisor in timely fashion
  • Ability to co-ordinate with project/ planning engineers to plan, monitor and control project activities.
  • Input into project/ asset plans in timely fashion
