Job Description

Our client is an established Design, Engineering, Welding, Machining & Manufacturing business based in the city centre of Hull a fantastic opportunity has arisen for a person who is a qualified CNC Machinist with MAZAK experience. The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in programming, setting and operating MAZAK CNC machine tools or similar. Attention to performance and quality is essential, ability to cope with frequent batch changes and be able to read, interpret and apply detail from engineering drawings is essential. You will be working in a department with other machinists as a member of a versatile and flexible team. Attention to Health & Safety, Environment and Quality is a high priority for our customers and the business.

Key requirements for the successful candidate:

  • Must be confident in using MAZAK controls and be able to program, set and operate.
  • Good numeracy
  • Good reading/writing/verbal communication
  • Good ability to follow instructions
  • Knowledge and experience HAAS machine tools
  • Knowledge and experience in Heidenhain
  • Full driving licence (occasional site visit may be required)
  • Fork truck license - 3 tonne counterbalance preferred.
  • Health and Safety Certificate or H&S Passport or similar qualification
  • Proven experience in a similar environment
  • Physical ability and knowledge to carry out safe manual lifting, slinging and securing of stock materials and finished assemblies safely.
  • Reasonable overtime working may be required

Produce goods with the required quality of finish and precision efficiently and to meet deadlines. Work with instruction from the team leader to produce components and items from stock materials made from carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminium or manmade composites such as Delryn, Nylon, UHT Plastics etc. Work in a safe and responsible manner. Assist in keeping the department clean and tidy.

Wage Rate Negotiable depending on experience, skills and knowledge
