Job Description

Worley is recruiting a Buyer with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry to join our Project Delivery operation for 6 months in Aberdeen.

Role Overview

The buyer will be required to identify, solicit and select reliable sources of supply of materials, equipment and services to support project execution. Prepare purchase orders, control prices and quality and ensure delivery of materials and equipment to meet objectives. Provide agreed approvals and supporting documentation for payment of invoices.

Key Aims and Objectives

  • Undertake procurement services to fulfil pre and post award activities in line with project schedule in accordance with Worley procedures and standards
  • Delivery of above referenced expectations

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure understanding, working knowledge and application of Worley corporate SCM endorsed procurement strategy and project procurement plan.
  • Complete pre and post award procurement for low complexity materials in accordance with Worley EMS procurement procedure, covering the following key areas:
  • Creation and issue request for quotation (RFQ) to pre approved suppliers as directed by the Senior procurement team.
  • Undertake Commercial Bid Evaluation (CBE) of supplier proposals
  • Work with the Engineering team to ensure completion of Technical Bid Evaluation (TBE) process as required
  • Undertake negotiation process
  • Complete and gain necessary approval of Recommendation to Award (RTA)
  • Support with invoicing/payment application process
  • Complete and gain necessary approval of Single Source Justification (SSJ)
  • Support/input into progressive learning sessions
  • Completion of Purchase Order award process, ensuring compliance to DoA requirements
  • Ongoing electronic and hard copy filing to required standard
  • Promote HSSE within Supply Chain
  • Timely completion of Purchase Order close out in accordance with established procedure and deadlines
  • Support/input into progressive learning sessions
  • Support Senior Procurement team with supplier performance assessment (FPAL or other)
  • Support with invoicing/payment application process

Role Requirements

Qualifications/Training

Essential:

  • SVQ/Standard grade education or equivalent

Desirable:

  • University Degree, or equivalent, in related field or applicable discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Demonstrable relevant experience and exposure, typically 1 years +
  • Certificate in procurement and supply operations accredited member of CIPS

Experience

Essential:

  • Base commercial awareness with key aspects of procurement process
  • Basic working knowledge on the principals of procurement and material management systems
  • Experience of working with a diverse multi discipline team in a fast paced and dynamic environment

Desirable:

  • Experience within the oil and gas industry
  • Good understanding of oil and gas supply market
  • Good understanding and knowledge of relevant supplier products
