Job Description

Amec Foster Wheeler is currently recruiting a Bid Editor at Senior Consultant level to join an expanding bid team and provide greater editorial and bid-process support to busy teams of in-house sales/commercial/project managers and diverse subject matter experts.

The successful candidate can be based in either our Leamington or Bristol offices and occasionally be required to travel to other UK offices.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will take (sometimes large) amounts of written content and rework it to the required shape, as dictated by the client. In all cases, the end result will be highly-readable, navigable, logical, and compelling. (The Seven Cs Principle: Clear, Concise, Correct, Consistent, Complete, Cohesive, Credible). You will also be the responsible point of contact for guidance on the bid process or on the use of corporate language. Peripheral responsibilities will include supporting other functions with writing/editorial input, either as mentor or trainer.

Qualifications:

  • You might come from a publishing/editorial/journalistic background, or simply be passionate about the written word. A teaching background would also be a good fit for our growing team. But whatever your background, you will be able to demonstrate an understanding of various readerships/audiences.
  • You will possess a degree/diploma in English or Journalism (or similar editorial discipline); alternatively, you will demonstrate 'qualification by experience' through a track-record of successful comparable roles.
