On the job front, we are hearing that there are signs of fluidity returning to the labour market. A recent survey has suggested that 6 million workers are now planning to move jobs, though real job creation is unlikely to happen until GDP growth exceeds 2.5%. However, the long-term outlook seems promising. Further evidence tells us that, while the recession has resulted in accepted pay freezes, shorter working times and internal reorganisations to save costs and preserve jobs, this has no doubt taken its toll on morale and job satisfaction resulting in one in four workers planning to leave their employer in the next year.
