Job Purpose: To complete electrical (and mechanical when required) PPM and reactive tasks as directed by the site based management in accordance with the contract requirements. Aims and Objectives To ensure adherence to the Health and Safety at Work Act To be responsive and cooperative and achieve the required tasks set Be part of a cohesive working team which aim to provide a high level of service to the client To be flexible in the covering of shifts for the split shift technician team due to holiday and sickness absence – early shift (0600 – 1430), late shift (13.30 – 22.00) Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities To carry out PPM in accordance with set schedules and procedures, ensuring engineering standards are maintained in order to maximise the operational effectiveness and reliability of the plant and associated electrical systems. Adherence to set engineering standards in accordance with Health and Safety at Work Act (HASAWA) requirements. To ensure onsite Quality Assurance procedures are adhered to in all respects and to maintain accurate records/documentation associated with the electrical aspects of the PPM and plant. To respond in a prompt and effective manner to all electrically related reactive maintenance issues and helpdesk requests. To coordinate initial actions associated with all requests from the client To coordinate visiting specialist sub contractors associated with electrical aspects of the PPM schedules. To respond do call outs and cover breakdowns and emergencies associated with the electrical services aspects of the contract as required. Electrical fault diagnosis associated with the PPM or reactive maintenance of the site. Repair of electrical systems and controls associated with Heating and Ventilating Building Services Repair and maintenance of lighting and distribution systems. Assist other trades as necessary. To have the flexibility to work across disciplines when needed. To attend monthly/weekly site meetings as required. To provide reports in relation to work and equipment as required. To undertake miscellaneous duties as requested by the client. To proactively work towards the growth of the contract into other service provisions be they Mechanical and Electrical, like for like replacements, project works, FM Soft Services etc. To operate within a site based maintenance team to complete electrical and mechanical PPM and reactive tasks as directed by the site SPIE Matthew Hall management. To work as part of team ensuring efficient and safe completion of tasks. To have at minimum a basic understanding of the site based systems and how they interact with each other. To carry out LSP duties in line with L8 when required Health & Safety All staff are required to fulfil their legal duty to take reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and others who may be affected by their acts and omissions, and to follow all guidance and instructions given in this respect. Working Relationships: Internal – Operations Manager, Technical Manager, Takes direction from Lead Engineer (Operatives line manager), Liaise with Site Administrator, takes direction from Shift Supervisor, works closely with maintenance team, works closely with small works team and cleaning team. External – to maintain the good relationship with the client’s management, to update the client’s helpdesk on tasks undertaken as requested, to maintain the good relationship of the client’s production equipment maintenance team, the monitoring of sub-contractors. Customer awareness – responsive to the needs of the customer and aims to deliver customer satisfaction. Qualifications Essential: C&G part 1 & 2 (Electrical Installation 2369) or recognised equivalent Health and Safety Training GCSE (or ‘O’ level equivalent) passes in Maths and English or recognised equivalent Desirable: C&G 2391 17th Edition Experience Essential: Experience with similar maintenance duties including fault diagnosis, rectification. Experience in the electrical aspects of general building PPM schedules. Experienced in electrical installation work, plus electrical testing and inspection. Desirable: Clear understanding of health & safety issues/ability to complete RA & MS. Experience in computer PPM management systems (Concept) Basic mechanical experience/knowledge Supervisory experience for future development
